About the MECoE

About the Role

You will be focusing on planning and scheduling of maintenance activities, and the management of repairable and warranties to minimise downtime, waste and cost, and maximise resource utilisation. Working with MECoE team and providing specialist expertise to the execution and management of Repairable mechanical components associated with Dragline and Rope Shovels and warranty management in consultation with vendors.  

Reporting to Superintendent Repairable & Warranties your responsibilities include:  

  • Processes and reviews warranty claims, validates repairable equipment using the correct methodology and completes the strip, assess and quote process to enable efficient equipment performance and low-cost production across BHP.
  • Plans, schedules, executes and reviews maintenance work orders and activities to maximise efficient production across BHP.
  • Develops, optimises and governs asset/maintenance strategies to drive continuous improvement and replication of best practices across assets and equipment while optimising value for the long term. 
  • Supports the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk. 
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems. 
  • Manages new and existing sets of master data, runs and cleanses reports to remove errors and improve the quality of master data across BHP. 
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation. 
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.

About You

This opportunity would suit someone who is passionate about continuous improvement and challenging the status quo. You will have the ability to influence with credibility ensuring commitment from your team and workgroups  

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse and inventory management within 1SAP.
  • Strong experience or knowledge of the 1SAP Work Management process.
  • Experience or knowledge of the inner workings of the vendor repair workshops.
  • Good understanding or technical knowledge of an Offsite Overhaul or Repairable process.
  • Experience with Dragline and Rope Shovel shutdowns would be beneficial.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously across multiple teams and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • An ability to travel as required to workshops and operational mine sites.
  • Vendor management skills and experience in contract management would be beneficial.
  • Trade qualification or Engineering degree with a background in Dragline and Rope Shovel maintenance.

Location

In this full-time permanent position, you ideally already residing in Mackay or willing to relocate there. You will be working on Monday-Friday roster while flexible work is also offered. While accommodation is not included in this offer, however relocation support can be offer to the successful applicant.
