About the Role

Group Reporting and Governance’s objective is to ensure BHP produces relevant and reliable Group level management and statutory reporting in a robust, compliant and timely manner under a common set of principles. 

Reporting into the Manager Group Reporting, we are currently seeking a Specialist Reporting with a focus on completing internal and external reporting in a timely, consistent and accurate manner, including identifying and implementing process improvements. The areas the Specialist Reporting will work across are complex, high profile (including half yearly Results Announcement and Annual Report) and require a basic understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as Australian, United Kingdom and US legislation and a strong attention to detail.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES •    Prepare statutory reporting deliverables including the half-year and year-end Results Announcements, Annual Reports and 20-F (US reporting requirements) filed across ASX/LSE/NYSE  •    Liaise with external auditors to support SOX and audit requirements to ensure controls were operating effectively •    Support Investor Relations in the preparation and review reports and presentations. •    Assist in the preparation and review of training materials and other documentation to support Reporting teams around the world in meeting Groups requirements. •    Ensure key controls are operating effectively over the statutory and management reporting processes. •    Assist in the preparation and review of the monthly Group consolidated results including the review of Group wide monthly submissions, high-level variance analysis and the preparation of insightful commentary. •    Summarise in-depth financial notes and memos to senior management audiences •    Ad-hoc analysis and support for the Group Financial Controller, CFO and other senior management  

About You

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with financial reporting related experience in a large international corporate environment or in a Global accounting firm. An understanding of IFRS as well as Australian, United Kingdom and US legislation compliance requirements is recommended. 

You will have strong interpersonal, communication and written skills, and be proactive in a complex environment with strict timelines. You will have an excellent data analysis and problem solving skills and a high attention to detail. Bachelor of Commerce, Management, Finance or Accounting degree. CPA/CA qualified recommended. SAP experience and solid Excel skills combined with modelling experience is recommended
