Our Cadia operation in INTEGRATED PLANNING is now recruiting for the position of

SPECIALIST–RESOURCE DEFINITION.

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for  

Reporting to the Superintendent- Geology, the Specialist – Resource Definition will provide the technical inputs to grow and define mineral resources at Cadia Valley Operations and ensure all work is conducted in a safe, structured and agreed and timely manner.

The Specialist Geologist will demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe working environment in accordance with company policy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, co-ordinate and execute drilling projects with the aim of increasing Mineral Resources and de-risking existing medium to long-term Ore Reserves.
  • Drive the long-term business direction by contributing to cave footprint definition and design. Maximise value at Cadia through targeting areas of opportunity for future caving locations.
  • Tracking of downhole grade variance to model, ensuring anomalies are investigated and understood in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical inputs which lead to building a strong geo-metallurgical framework at Cadia, whilst contributing to geo-metallurgical projects when required.
  • Comply with Corporate and Cadia timelines, assisting with the delivery of geological and geo-metallurgical model updates to contribute to robust, well scoped and risk assessed plans.
  • Contribute to mineral resource management at Cadia and assist in the annual reporting of mineral resources.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, verbal and written are essential.

You will also possess the following: 

  • A relevant degree or tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Science – Essential
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in hard rock - Gold and Copper – Essential
  • Extensive demonstrated experience executing drilling campaigns for mineral resource input - Essential
  • Familiar with mineral resource estimation processes and experience in preparation of data for mineral resource estimation– Essential
