About the Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Safety to join the Olympic Dam safety team.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Safety and Security, this role provides coaching, technical expertise, and advice on various aspects of safety systems and risk management to leaders across site.
In this role you will:
- Analyse safety data and information sources to identify emerging safety trends and recommend safety improvement initiatives
- Proactively reach out to site personnel to coach individuals in site safety systems
- Actively attend various safety routines across site
- Conduct training sessions across various safety systems
- Establish and lead an investigation quality working group to maintain capability of investigation facilitators
- Monitor a Safety email inbox and respond to support operational needs
- Lead a safety field leadership improvement program and promote hazard awareness and identification
- Support the sites Health and Safety Representative Process
- Support our operational teams with infield support and coaching
Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 dayshift roster arrangement, with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available.
About You
You will be a self-motivated professional with a solid record or accomplishment of achieving results through influence, coaching and mentoring.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience in a safety role
- Experience in the mining industry
- A tertiary qualification, or equivalent industry experience managing safety
- Certificate IV in OHS
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels in an organisation
- Coaching and mentoring skills with a genuine desire to help people, achieve outcomes and support continuous improvement
- Experience with facilitating safety incident investigations
- Sound data analytical skills
- A current C class motor licence or equivalent Australian state motor vehicle licence
