ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Superintendent Technical & Support, as Senior Mining Specialist the purpose of this role is to provide technical support and guidance to frontline team within the BBM team. Support provided through managing operational guidance to crews, supervisors & superintendents for supporting enabling activities.

More specifically, compliance checks and auditing of G360, facilitating incident investigations, supporting and working with crew HSR`s to increase capability, managing SRS and external reporting requirements. This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.

key responsibilities are, but not limited to:

Accountabilities  

• Support frontline leaders to deliver quality Safety Interactions that drive improved outcomes.
• Coordinate BBM HSR’s to deliver effective Safety Meetings and assist action resolution.
• Responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing out improvement projects for the Mining execution team.
• Conduct regular compliance checks to ensure adherence to production processes and work instructions.
• Initiate improvement to work practices, procedures and critical controls
• Accountabilities associated with site Quarry Manager
• Provide input into production strategies, budgets, and plans.

ABOUT YOU 

• Quarry Manager Ticket
• Experience in mining and maintenance practices in open cut operations required.
• Trained in ICAM investigation methodology
• Exceptional safety leadership with the ability to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace
   

Qualifications for this position are:

• Demonstrated capability to successfully influence others
• 5 years minimum experience in a similar role
