We are looking for a Specialist Service Design to support the IT Ops Readiness Manager in delivering and embedding the Service Design Process. This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to support the development, role out and embedment of the process, engaging with stakeholders across IS&T. The role ensures that new Services requiring Service Design are aligned with RioTinto’s Service Standard and follow our IT Service Management Policies and Processes.

Reporting to the Operational Readiness Manager and working in a collaborative community within the Service Management Office, you will:
- Provide guidance/governance to all stakeholders in the IS&T environment including outsource partners in the operation of the IT Service Design process using a supportive and collaborative approach.
- Support the development an IT Service Design Playbook that can be applied to future Projects enabling Service Owners to Self-Serve.
- Support the development of an approach to deliver Service Design as a Service (SDaaS).
- Support the development and maintenance of Service Design documentation e.g., service catalogs, service level agreements (SLAs), and Service Design Packages (SDPs).
- Engage and coordinate with all stakeholders to complete the IT Service Design Artifacts in a timely manner to enable them to be handed over to IT Operational Readiness (Service Transition).
- Perform a key interfacing role and encourage collaboration between the programme /project teams and Service Towers.
- Ensure organization wide IT Service Design activities adhere to RioTinto standards, processes, and best practice.
- Track and report on key IT Service Design Metrics.
- Conduct regular service design reviews and audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Proven experience in IT service design and service management.
- Knowledge of IT Operational Readiness Experience in the mining industry (preferred).
- Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- IT certifications such as ITIL, TOGAF, or Service Design Professional are a plus.
- Experience with IT service management tools and software.
- A successful track record in managing Service Design/Coordination in a large geographically dispersed organisation.
