About the Role

We are seeking a technically minded individual to join a results-driven team in a Specialist Services capacity responsible for overseeing and monitoring site tailings and dams. Working within a core group, this role will ensure the delivery of daily inspections, identification of site hazards and overall management of safety and risk including external contractors. In addition, you will also have responsibilities for:

  • Responds to and manages emergencies and emerging hazards
  • Complies with regulatory requirements and performs first level maintenance activities
  • Conducts routine operational and safety activities to effectively prepare for and manage operational workload
  • Supervises operational activities (e.g., production, plant) to enable the delivery of continuous safe operations
  • Supervision of tailings storage facility construction activity.
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes
  • Prioritises work effort and resources accordingly

Key requirements include:

  • Prior experience in a supervisory role is preferred
  • Resource industry experience
  • Experience site based work
  • Capability with SAP software or similar
