About the Role
The Specialist Site Improvement, reporting to the Superintendent Site Improvement, will be responsible for the successful identification and execution of improvement projects at Yandi. You will be part of a high performing team, responsible for leading change and improvement, executing projects designed to unlock value and reduce waste through embedding continuous improvement deep into our culture.
This position offers flexible work options with the opportunity to work a 5:2 4:3 or 4:3 FIFO rotation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Identifying, framing, scheduling, costing and managing key improvement projects, spanning across all departments in safety, culture, cost and throughput
- Coaching in continuous improvement from the front-line through to leadership
- Supporting the Manager Operational Readiness and teams at Yandi to embed Continuous Improvement routines and management of their initiative portfolios
- Facilitating changes or the establishment of new core routines necessary to strengthen and maintain the operating system
- Monitoring content developed for the operating system toolkit to ensure it aligns with quality and operational requirements
- Data reporting, analysis and presenting
About You
The behavioural qualities you exhibit in this role will be critical to set the expectation to all employees at site to ensure the timely delivery of improvement projects. Therefore, you must be passionate and have high energy levels in problem solving and facilitation, along with the ability to challenge existing thinking.

- Experience in leading or implementing a process improvement or change management project, including facilitating problem solving sessions at the front line
- Passionate about working collaboratively to solve complex business problems
- Prior experience in portfolio and project management (full lifecycle) or supply chain improvement projects (would be advantageous but not essential)
- University degree in one of the following disciplines; Engineering, Operations Research, Business, Science, Finance, Commerce (or similar) would be advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience in the mining industry is not required
Location
Yandi is an Iron Ore site located 178 kilometres north-west of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
You will be staying at Spinifex camp with facilities including WIFI, well-equipped Gym with modern equipment, pool, team sports, Quiz nights, couples rooms.
