About the Role

The Specialist Site Planner provides specialist advice and executes planning, development and communication of weekly work schedules for WAIO Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) Community Infrastructure assets. To achieve this objective the Specialist Site Planner adheres to maintenance planning routines defined by BHP work management processes, maintaining direct communication with operational maintenance teams.

Reporting to the NPI Superintendent Community Infrastructure, the focus of the Specialist Site Planner will include:

  • Builds and communicates accurate weekly work schedules reflecting all work management activities.
  • Complies with the 1SAP Work Management processes to schedule work based on the prioritisation as determined by the Maintenance Execution sub-function.
  • Confirms agreement by the relevant stakeholders and stakeholder sign off, of the weekly work schedule for an operation/area of scope.
  • Coordinates with work centre owners to ensure that work centre capacities (capacity managed) are accurately updated in 1SAP.
  • Creates and plans 1SAP work orders as per defined scope that enables effective deployment of work management resources, but not limited to personnel, service providers and materials.
  • Drives business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance metrics
  • Facilitates the weekly Pre-Prioritisation, Prioritisation, Scheduling and the Resource Levelling Meetings to ensure alignment of all work management activities to Maintenance or other operational plans.
  • Identifies and creates corrective / non-strategy task lists for reoccurring work to support efficient and effective planning and safe work execution
  • Identify and implement improvement actions to the maintenance work management process, ensuring a process of monitoring, control and management initiatives according to the impact on the business are maintained
  • Validates adequate resource levelling and aligns work requirements to a rolling 12-week schedule.

About You

In this capacity, we are seeking a candidate with the following skills:

  • A commitment to health, safety and environment
  • Customer service focus with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and scheduling, while experience with maintenance planning will be an advantage
  • Excellent understanding of asset management principals
  • Well-develop analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with 1SAP, FIORI and Plant Maintenance
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Outlook, MS Teams, Word and Excel
  • Current Driver’s License (C Class)

Location

You will be based at Port Hedland on a fly-in fly-out 8/6 roster.  Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia.   The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, TV lounge and games rooms. Additionally you will have access to the state of the art aquatic and sporting facilities in the town of Port Hedland. All rooms at the villages have their own en-suite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
