About the Role

Corporate Affairs is responsible for establishing and driving the strategy to protect and enhance BHP’s reputation. Our team does this through establishing mutually beneficial internal and external relationships. Corporate Affairs delivers value and manages risk by securing the understanding and support of key stakeholders. The purpose of the Community sub function is to understand and minimise adverse social and human rights impacts arising from company activities, develop mutually beneficial relationships with host communities and contribute to their economic and social development, enabling a shared benefit from our presence. We are currently seeking a Specialist who will act as an advisor to BHP WA's Social Investment Program and play a lead role in the development, monitoring and control of social investment projects associated with the Iron Ore and Nickel West portfolios. This is a Part Time role offered at .06. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES •    Life-cycle project management of community partnerships: effectively manage Business level social investment to ensure desired objectives, key performance indicators and reporting requirements are met while identifying opportunities for enhancing and improving partnerships and programs. •    Contribute to the development of the WA Social Investment Plan. •    Work closely with site teams to deliver the Social Investment Plan and maintain BHPs reputation within communities of interest. •    Govern and monitor community partnerships to ensure they meet governance and compliance requirements and community governance processes. •    Support the Communications team in marketing and public relations activities for Social Investment programs to both an internal and external audiences. •    Effectively support financial discipline through program budget management. •    Understand the political and social climate of the communities and regions in which BHP operates •    Develop and maintain effective networks with key external stakeholders (industry bodies, government, and regulatory bodies) to support strategies and programs.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of WA communities and extensive external engagement experience with communities, governments and other bodies. You bring your Tertiary qualification in social performance, community development or broader sustainability field coupled with experience in partnership management and contract development.  If you are looking for a role where you can shine and use you strong collaboration , influencing and problem solving skills this role is for you.
