We are seeking an inquiring and meticulous Sourcing Specialist to join Rio Tinto’s Procurement Team.

Reporting to the Sourcing Team Lead you will be responsible for creating plans and solutions to resolve complex supply challenges and facilitate sourcing activities through managing relationships with Rio Tinto Procurement and Business Unit stakeholders

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Management of the end-to-end sourcing process.
  • Identify sourcing opportunities through spend analysis.
  • Design, develop and manage tenders
  • Supplier Identification, Qualification, Assessment.
  • Draft business cases for management approval.
  • Working with integrity and ensuring a fully compliant environment

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Strong commercial acumen and previous experience in a similar role.
  • Proven data driven decision making skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in tender management and contract negotiation
  • High level of proficiency in SAP and Excel, whilst knowledge and experience with Ariba is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and personal development
  • Knowledge and experience in the mining sector managing complex business processes and/or a background working with the Big 4 contract negotiation and tenders would be highly regarded

This role will be based in Central Park – Perth’s CBD hub. Rio Tinto Procurement provides supply chain services that deliver value to the Rio Tinto Group through the strategic sourcing of goods and services for all operations and businesses. Value is enabled through close collaboration with business unit stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of requirements, and then delivered through uniformed processes, e-technology, increased corporate social responsibility and measurable value delivery for the Rio Tinto Group.
