We are looking for an experienced Specialist Structural Geologist to join our Technical Services team in Perth to produce, maintain and manage structural geology data collection, analysis and 3D models.

Reporting to the Superintendent Structural Geology, you will be part of a growing and business-critical structural geology group aimed to develop, maintain and manage critical inputs into the Studies projects (Conceptual to Feasibility). Your time will be focused on improving and refining stratigraphic and structural knowledge for geotechnical design, other geoscience disciplines, and effective mine planning and optimisation of our studies projects to ensure growth opportunities and the achievement of the long-term business strategy.

You will be a safety role model, engage with a variety of stakeholders, champion continuous improvement projects and provide training and mentoring to junior staff.

About you

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • A Bachelor in Earth Sciences, Geology or Structural Geology (Masters in Geology or a Structural Geology degree is desirable, but not mandatory)
  • A strong technical background with a focus on open cut mining/bulk commodities
  • Experience in construction of computerised 3D geological/stratigraphic models
  • Experience in geological/geotechnical drill program planning and implementation
  • Demonstrated exposure in mapping in an open pit environment
  • High-level experience in geological data gathering, validation and structural analysis
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including an ability to build relationships
  • Excellent writing skills, attention to detail and an ability to problem solve

This role is based in Perth at our Central Park building with some travel to operating sites as required.
