About the role 

The Resource Development division is accountable for exploring, developing and planning resource extraction at the right cost for our iron ore business. The team is responsible for exploration and evaluation drilling, resource estimation, geoscience and mining engineering functions. We are currently looking for a Specialist Surveyor to work within a new spatial data processing centre (DPC) based in Perth CBD on a 5 days on, 2 off roster.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Data Processing, you will:

• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to enhance geospatial data delivery.
• Develop and refine geospatial data capture and processing standards.
• Oversee the monthly flyover, disturbance, and rehabilitation mapping processes.
• Ensure compliance with geospatial data processing and survey data capture standards.
• Maintain and enhance various FME workbenches and automations.
• Maintain and create Power BI reports.
• Provide technical guidance for Resource Development’s spatial data capture which includes RTK GPS and machine guidance systems.
• Support the business in environmental compliance reporting.

What you’ll bring    

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Surveying or another Geospatial Science.
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern survey data capture technologies and processing techniques.
• Previous experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS On Line, Field Maps, and ESRI Dashboards.
• Prior experience with FME Desktop and/or FME Server.
• Experience in the mining and exploration industry.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Trimble GNSS systems.
• Familiarity with machine guidance systems and their outputs.
