About the role
The role of Specialist Technology Analyst Projects will help bring changes and improvements to how people work, create and communicate across the South32 organisation.
In this role, you will facilitate the successful and timely delivery of Technology projects, in addition, you will ensure adherence to established methodologies, processes, and standards.
You will maintain a close working relationship between Technology, Operations and external partners\providers to ensure successful innovation and evolving technologies can be integrated into the operation.
The role can be offered on a 4/3 or 7:7 roster, Fly-in/Fly-out from Townsville, Brisbane or Drive-in/Drive-out from the Mount Isa.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Support the strategic planning process (12 to 24 months) between Technology and the Operation to ensure that the technology implications of business strategies are understood and that Technology initiatives support the operation’s business strategy
- Contribute to the Technology project prioritisation and pipeline management process to represent the East Coast Operations priorities.
- Assist in the successful integration between people and technology systems – creating greater interfaces and optimal experiences
- Track the benefit realisation and business value from technology investments in projects through transparent total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Track and monitor performance measures including costs and governance for Technology projects.
- Work closely with your technology peers to ensure clear understanding and transparency of the Technology project portfolio.
- Support the Manager Projects to ensure the development and the ongoing management of resource management processes and practices that encourage, support, and promote internal representation on projects and improvement initiatives
- Coordination of internal and external resources throughout the execution of a project.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Experience in the Mining sector is highly desired, but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality analysis and documentation that concisely captures the vision and translates into requirement(s).
- Well-rounded understanding of technology and key functional and operational business processes
- Ability to understand what creates value, key performance indicators and data sets to influence results
- Knowledge of general accounting concepts, project/cost controls and governance
- Direct work experience in project management capacity
- Relevant Tertiary degree, specialised training, or equivalent work experience
- Qualification in project management or equivalent is desired, but not mandatory
