About the Role
The WAIO business requires a dynamic, experienced professional who has proven understanding of Tenure lifecycle processes including tenure application, tenure acquisition and tenure management. Working across multiple mining and infrastructure projects in Western Australian you will be required to provide key inputs and tenure advice into the development of large projects in the Pilbara. This role will be based in the BHP Perth office Monday to Friday. Flexible work options will be considered.
Reporting to the Superintendent, this position requires that you can manage multiple projects and maintain flexibility to adapt to changing business conditions and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing specialist expertise on tenure and land access requirements
- Facilitating obtaining external access and tenure approvals for Assets/Projects/Operations
- Obtaining Tenure for significant new works, projects and associated tenure maintenance practices.
- Providing guidance on land access and tenure requirements to support proposed new works during project development phases providing land access options.
- Assisting in management of Wardens Court proceedings, including preparation of court documentation, drafting of access and other commercial agreements to facilitate grant of tenure.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be extremely collaborative and strategically minded with high level influencing and stakeholder engagement skills. You are team oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in working with others to achieve results. In addition, we are ideally looking for the following specific skills and experience:
- Knowledge and experience in tenure and land management including applications, renewals and compliance requirements.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Excellent written, oral and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and regulatory stakeholders.
- Experience in a similar role in mining, energy, or infrastructure projects would assist.
