About the Role

BHP has recently implemented Autonomous Haulage at South Flank. As a result of this transformation, roles to support the ongoing Autonomous Haulage Systems have been created.  This includes the Specialist Trainer AHS position which will work alongside the Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) Control team helping them build the skills and capabilities to operate more safely, efficiently and improve productivity. 

The Specialist Trainer AHS is responsible for implementing training plans and resource material to ensure a high level of competency is maintained and ensure all candidates are trained and assessed fairly.  You will provide training in the FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) for the team members dedicated to Autonomous Haulage. Your team will be the single source of information for all training content, including creation, delivery, and review. 

Your duties include, but are not limited to:    •    Design, development, review and facilitation of training content and training plans for IPRO Controllers AHS to ensure a high level of competency is maintained; •    Ensuring procedures are current and training is aligned to Statutory and WAIO operating procedures, including the RACI; •    Monitor shift skills balance and coordinate training for Controller AHS employees to meet their role requirements; •    To ensure training is optimised across the business and engagement with other Fleet Management System (FMS) users to ensure all personnel using the system are trained correctly in accordance with the Autonomous FMS.

We are seeking expressions of interest from those with backgrounds in delivering control training in Komatsu’s FrontRunner Fleet Management control system.  The Specialist Trainer AHS is initially required to be based on site on an 8/6/7/7 roster (to close out the project phase of our autonomous deployment), before permanently transitioning to the Perth IROC in March 2024 on the Lifestyle roster.

About You

We are seeking candidates who are excited about being part of a large technology transformation and who have the following:   •    Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across a range of teams •    Digital fluency and the ability to use technology •    Ability to lead change and find new ways of adding value •    An ability to train and coach learners with varying levels of experience •    Excellent commitment to continuous improvement with a focus on improving training materials and delivery methodologies to improve the experience and efficiency of the training approach •    Experienced in mining operations with hand on experience in mine control fleet management systems •    Previous experience with an Autonomous fleet management operating system is highly desirable  •    Experience using FrontRunner would be highly regarded
