About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent, Training Delivery, you will provide outstanding learning experience for our new and existing workforce, ensuring they have the tools to work safely, productively and contribute positively to our culture of safety, respect, care and inclusion.

This role will be an Olympic Dam based position, operating on a 7/7 FIFO, DIDO or residential roster.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver quality programs to intended audiences, achieving programs’ objectives and ensuring learning transfer occurs for each participant
  • Reinforces the employee value proposition by delivering a professional and positive impression of OD
  • Ensure integration of BHP’s safety culture into all programs and training
  • Provide specialist advice in addition to identifying and implementing improvement initiatives that enable functional excellence
  • Works collaboratively across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders with varying degrees of seniority
  • Carry out training activities in accordance with BHP policies, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Executes high value Field Leadership observations, assessment and / or verification of individuals’ competence in various settings from the classroom to in-field
  • Be a proactive team member and show initiative in all areas of your work
  • Promotes workplace safety, equity and diversity

About You

  • Professional training, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to BHP’s values and achieving an incident and injury free workplace
  • Experience in and comprehensive knowledge of relevant mining and major hazardous facilities risks
  • Proven ability to build highly effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders and working groups
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal direction, being resourceful and proactive in your approach
  • Ability to work and communicate tactfully and effectively with a multifunctional team on a range of problem-solving activities
  • A strong understanding of adult learning and the ability to apply a mix of methods to ensure learning transfer
  • Customer focused with a strong desire to assist and work collaboratively across a variety of project areas and key stakeholders
  • Willingness to guide and implement change, as well as influence and mentor others in training and safety principles and behaviours
