About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Specialist Trainer for our Port Hedland operations. This is a crucial role that ensures all Rail department employees and Imbedded Contractors are trained and competent to perform their roles.
You will be accountable for:
- Training and assessing role specific competencies for line area.
- Developing, designing, updating and delivering training material.
- Developing and maintaining training methodology, including learning outcomes, assessment criteria and presentation material.
- Ensuring business compliance requirements are met in an efficient and timely manner.
- Onboarding new Production employees into the teams.
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with all personnel within the team and developing a ‘one team’ approach in the Rail Network Maintenance workplace.
- Adopting, developing and exhibiting the appropriate behaviours and culture when working at Rail.
- Undertaking ad-hoc project work as directed by line leader.
This position is Residential or FIFO on 8/6 roster.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience in training and assessing within the Rail Industry including track protection Safeworking and will possess experience in technical writing (desirable). A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 and a WA "C" class drivers licence are essential. Other competencies include:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks
- Proven ability to engage and build relationships across multiple layers of the organisation
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement with a focus on improving training materials and delivery methodologies
- Improve the experience and efficiency of the training approach
- Ability to develop others through coaching, mentoring, rewarding and guiding
- Ability to lead and manage change in a complex environment
- Competence with Microsoft Office/365 products and learning management systems
- Self-development - new skills acquired when needed to complete tasks
