About the Role

Reporting to the RSM Training Supervisors within the Fleet Management Team, this is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive and diverse candidate to join our RSM Training Team.

We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership capability, and communication skills. Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships in addition to a demonstrated ability to consolidate and analyse information. You will have the skills and knowledge to provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude. The successful candidate will preferably possess a strong understanding of Rail Operations related terminology, theory, key processes and activities (e.g. Track Rolling Stock, Loco Maintenance & Communications).  

Key responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Demonstrate commitment and conformance to the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.

  • Participate in driving a continuous improvement culture within the training team.
  • Delivery and facilitation of Loco specific classroom Training Packages.
  • Ensure technical training and assessment of High Risk Equipment is performed in line with WAIO standards.
  • Identify capability gaps and design learning programs to mitigate.
  • Ensuring training materials are developed and updated in line with WAIO standards.
  • Verifying & assessing the competency of Loco maintenance operators in field.
  • Administering training related documentation & systems.
  • Planning and scheduling of training courses and assessments

Roster

You will be based in Port Hedland with a residential roster of 5:2 or fly-in fly-out 5:2 / 4:3  

About You

To be successful in this position, you will be a collaborative, performance focused and output driven individual with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Possess a Training and Assessing Certificate IV TAE40116 or TAE40110
  • Valid Australian C class driver’s licence.

In addition, you will possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills complimented with the following demonstrated experience in Training, Assessing and Facilitation:

  • Proven ability to create & review training related documents including packages and processes
  • Sound communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Coordination and planning of training related activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel highly desirable
  • LMS & D2 Managed Documents experience highly desirable
  • Background in Loco maintenance is desired
