About the Role

Yandi Mine is an open pit mine site located 1 hour 40 min north of Newman Township in the Pilbara. There’s plenty to keep you entertained in the Spinifex Camp Village - take the heat off the day and head to the pool or join in on a game of Squash, Basketball, Volleyball or Cricket, plus there are other social activities including movie nights. There is also a fully equipped Gym with nightly fitness classes provided by our site Personal Trainers. We are seeking a Specialist Trainer to join our inclusive and high performing Mining Production Training team. Working as the link between technical expert and trainer facilitator, your communication skills and proactive nature will enable you to deliver training for our New to Industry and Steels & Wheels programs. Reporting to the Training Supervisor Key Responsibilities Include:  

  • Delivery of training packages and adapting presentations to suit learner needs
  • Train, coach, mentor and assess personnel of our ‘New to Industry’ and ‘Steels & Wheels’ Programs
  • Review content of operational training programs and training packages

About You

You will have access to technology that will enable you to work flexibly, which is key to BHP’s success in addressing the requirements of a diverse workforce. Key Requirements of the Role Include;  

  • Certificate IV TAE Training and Assessing 40116 or Enterprise Skillset is required.
  • CAT or Komatsu Haul Truck operating experience essential.
  • Operation of Excavator, Wheel Loader, Track / Wheel Dozer & Grader experience is preferred.
  • Instructor led - hands on training, together with assessment of candidates is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build solid relationships with key stakeholders.
