About the Role
Reporting to the Lead, we are looking for a Specialist Value Chain who will play a vital role in the development of cross-cutting multi-year strategies and partnerships, and conducting sourcing activities.
- Build trusted relationships with key asset and functional stakeholders
- Support Category team to drive a high performance culture
- Identify opportunities to improve Category Management
- Keeping abreast of key external trends both functionally and Supply market perspective, new innovation and newly emerging risks
- Driving collaboration by participating in cross-functional teams to identify and execute opportunities to reduce TCO (i.e. considering not only price but utility, demand, productivity and so on)
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to drive total value chain outcomes related to external spend using best practice tools such as clean sheeting, eAuctions, TCO analysis
- Effective communication of strategies to all levels of internal stakeholders, from senior leadership to frontline operations
- Develop implementation and handover plan for contracts, to ensure that value is sustainably captured (which may include defining and tracking success measures)
Role Principles
- Trusted partner to operational stakeholder in respect of external spend in relevant category
- Detailed understanding of the category including technical knowledge, demand analysis, spend analysis and market dynamics
- Works collaboratively across Supply (Region, Global and across sub-functions) and operations stakeholders across Australia to develop and execute category and sourcing strategies
- Business partnering approach to value creation
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to support the development and implementation of complex, regional and / or global categories and sourcing strategies
- Extensive experience in tender and sourcing
- Ability to manage and influence stakeholders across multiple geographical regions
- Identify risks and appropriate commercial control options
- Ability to think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change
- Role models an ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
- Exercises sound judgement to listen; ask the right questions; validate assumptions and understand stakeholder requirements
- Skilled in conflict management & facilitation
- Approaching work with a strategic mind-set including the ability to identify new opportunities and drive them to implementation
