About the Role
BHP owns, operates and maintains a significant amount of potable water infrastructure. This includes the Mining Area C Water Treatment Plant as well as other potable infrastructure to service FIFO villages and mine operations. This infrastructure is growing and changing with our business. The Water Operations Specialist is a key role to facilitate the ongoing operational efficiency of the water team by ensuring that operational regulatory compliance and asset performance requirements are achieved and align to the scheme strategic asset management plan and regulations. The current roster offers some flexibility, ideally operating on a 5:2, 4:3 with 3 days on site and 2 days in Perth.
Reporting to the Superintendent Water Central, some of your duties will include:
- Maintaining operating procedure documents;
- Identifying and developing process improvements in consultation with the operations team;
- Working closely with Operational, Technical and Compliance (OTC) and Governance and Technical Stewardship (GTS) teams to progress and implement process improvements;
- Maintain and monitor scheme demands and ensure future demands are identified and planned for;
- Reviewing operational performance data to enable system optimisation and improvements;
- Confirm operational critical control points align with the scheme’s water supply system operating procedure.
About You
To be successful for this role, you will possess the following:
- Experience with coordinating and working with external regulators and stakeholders;
- Experience with process and chemical treatment systems;
- Ability to work collaboratively with trade maintenance teams as required;
- Minimum of C class drivers licence;
- Degree Qualified Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineer.
