About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and dynamic audit professional to join the BHP WIL Operational Readiness team. Based in our Perth office, this role will be part of the team to oversee and execute the Supply Chain Management project deliverables, with particular focus on Warehousing, Inventory and Logistics.

Core Accountabilities

  • Applies an understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimization, and maximize value
  • Ensure adherence to WIL functional requirements
  • Conduct material master data set-up including cataloguing, material classification and stocking strategy development as a minimum
  • Applies relevant material classification and stocking strategies in order to optimize inventory levels with a focus on improving inventory working capital and ensuring compliance with material preservation requirements 
  • Applies logistics management procedures and requirements to safely and efficiently meet stakeholder demands.  
  • Balances customer requirements with capability of Supply Chain to ensure required materials are available for use.  
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.  
  • Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence-based decision making.  
  • Align all work around performance of the respective value stream, including suppliers and customers
  • Understand the standard of work and the manner of completing it that will ultimately meet the expectations of customers (on time delivery, meeting quality specifications, etc.)
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.  
  • Conducts site visits on a periodic basis to build relationships with Projects and Operations stakeholders to drive achievement of optimum business outcomes

About You

To be a success in the role you will require:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in resources industry or equivalent, ideally with experience in inventory management and optimization practices and/or project management
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office products, especially data analysis in excel
  • Tertiary Qualification and/or Certificates, preferably in Inventory Management, Logistics or Warehouse Management
  • Strong capability to influence others to deliver shared objectives in a professional environment
  • Experience in the natural resources industry, including operations, supply chain management, project delivery or reliability 
  • Understanding of Inventory & Work Management processes 
  • Demonstrated experience with Inventory Analytics & Strategy 
  • Bias to action, attention to detail, with strong organization and effective communication skills are essential characteristics to succeed in this role.
