Worsley Alumina is one of the largest and lowest-cost bauxite mining and alumina refining operations in the world. Worsley manages a bauxite mine, alumina refinery and port operations in Western Australia’s South West.

Location 
Refinery    This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes – bus available from Bunbury location only) and other nearby scenic communities.  
 
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.  

The Opportunity
This is a permanent full-time position.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Maintenance, Planning & Control, the purpose of this role is to develop & communicate plans and schedules for an operational area in accordance Work Management processes, Organisational compliance to risk management processes and Australian industry standards and procedures.

Accountabilities – 

• Create and plan work Safe schedules to identify, minimise and control risks associated work execution and the working environment for all South32 employees and contractors.
• Ensure equipment operates and complies with statutory obligations.
• Create & Plan work schedules to enable effective deployment of resources, including South32 personnel, Contractors, service providers and materials. 
• Control costs and manage work in line with department budgets and capture opportunities to optimise schedules for equipment reliability and plant stability.
• Develop and improve plans and work schedules by updating SAP master data and organising work to optimise labour utilisation. 
• Organise and plan work in accordance with contractor management and commercial procedures.
• Adhere to South32 and Worsley Work management processes.

About You   
Technical Skills

• Understand and interpret technical drawings, manuals and engineering scopes.
• Plan and schedule work using SAP.
• Understanding of SAP master data and functional location structures.
• Advanced Computer literacy skills including MS Suite. (Word, excel, project, outlook)
• Develop and plan work packages for contractor managed execution.  
   

Attributes

• Works well in a team environment and can undertake a variety of tasks and willing to interchange roles within an area planning team and across the Refinery. 
• Self- reliant contributor who works autonomously to achieve department and refinery goals. 
• Self-motivated uses initiative and builds good engaging working relationships.
• Experience with Alumina refining or power station assets and equipment.
• Undertake various roles and development opportunities within planning teams. 
   

Qualifications 

• Mechanical/Engineering Trade is desirable.
• Graduate Certificate in Asset and Maintenance Management. (Highly regarded)
