Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Statutory Mechanical Engineering Manager will be an integral and influential team member, overseeing the mechanical engineering standards and practices at the underground mine and coal handling preparation plant.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, some key responsibilities will include; •    Develop, supervise, monitoring and reviewing the mechanical engineering standards, procedures and practices. •    Provide technical expertise to key stakeholders ensuring compliance and availability of mechanical plant and equipment. •    Be a leader of safety and compliance activities on site. 

Skills and Experience

• Mechanical Engineering Manager Certificate of Competence (Underground) and Practicing Certificate or working towards obtaining.
• Understanding of NSW Legislation and Industry Standards.
• Minimum of 5 years' underground mining experience.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Sound planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
