About the Role

As a candidate who enjoys working in an environment of high safety and operational standard you will:

  • Assisting the team with new asset arrival to site 
  • Creating purchase requisition and liaising with SAP suppliers
  • Organising parts arrival for each individual job 
  • Escalating concerns with parts
  • Maintaining our consumables and stores area int he workshop and placing orders as required
  • Raising purchase orders and warehouse reservations
  • Raising urgent friend requests
  • General workshop support

About You

If you have worked or are new to a maintenance role you believe that your maintenance future could be in mining then we might have a relevant opportunity for you if you hold the following:

  • Warehousing or tool store experience
  • C Class drives licence
  • Desirable – SAP knowledge and experience and Forklift licence
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills and the ability to work closely in a team environment
  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
  • Be focused on working collaboratively within your team to achieve results.
  • Commitment to our field leadership program/activities.

Location

You will be working a lifestyle roster – Residential to Port Hedland.

In this residential role you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia.  The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.   

The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife.  Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park. In this position you will be provided with a rental accommodation allowance in accordance with BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Housing policy.
