The Gwalia Gold Mine is located three kilometres south of the town of Leonora, Western Australia, and has been a flagship asset for our client St Barbara for the past 15 years. Macmahon is proud to be able to deliver a whole of mine service including mine development, ground support, production drilling and blasting, loading and trucking, shotcreting and paste fill reticulation from May 2021.
The Gwalia mine is the cornerstone of Leonora operations and has strong margins supported by good grades and a focus on costs and returns. The site has a track record of continuous improvement, with a recently upgraded mine ventilation system, and a previous significant upgrade of the accommodation village that incorporated a number of energy efficient and environmentally friendly initiatives.

The Macmahon Underground team is seeking a Storeperson to work FIFO on a 2/2 roster (including night and day shift) available from Perth to project site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate records of all inventory transactions and stock levels
  • Loading and unloading of parts and consumables for inbound and outbound freight
  • Issuing, returning and data entering of stock within the Inventory Management System
  • Undertaking regular stock takes and stock level adjustments
  • Ensuring storage and care of all inventory in a safe and efficient manner
  • Investigating inventory discrepancies and documenting stock transfers, returns etc


Requirement: 

  • Previous stores/ inventory management experience within a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Australian Drivers licence
  • Current forklift ticket
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to interpret maintenance parts as well as knowledge of other mine site consumables will be well regarded
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role
