Rothsay Gold Mine is one of Australia’s newest high grade underground gold mines located approximately 300kms north-north east of Perth and 85km south-east of Silver Lake’s Deflector Operations. Rothsay commenced underground mining late 2020 and comprises of two declines accessing a narrow vein gold deposit.  

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an organised and self-motivated Storeperson/Purchasing Officer to be a key part of the Rothsay team. Reporting to the Underground Manager, your key responsibilities will be to operate the stores and purchasing process for the site, ensuring delivery of equipment and material in a timely and cost-effective manner.

You have a positive, can-do attitude coupled with an eye for process improvement opportunities.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Daily management of stores (balances, stock issues and reorder)
  • Source and liaise with supplies taking into account costs and availability 
  • Monitor min/max levels for stock to ensure supply is maintained
  • Continual monitoring and review of critical spares list
  • Process requests for quotes and orders in Pronto, then receipt and update as required
  • Daily tank readings for diesel 
  • Prepare & assist in the yearly stocktake
  • Checking received goods for damage and order completeness, following up any issues promptly
  • Maintaining a neat and well-organised store, ensuring goods are packed away in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the smooth operation of the store

 ABOUT YOU:

You are a highly motivated professional with the ability to build, develop and maintain excellent working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. You are approachable, collaborative, and have excellent communication skills. You can effectively prioritise your work and have strong ability to multi-task, which will see you thrive in this fast-paced and variable role.

In addition to this you will have:

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated experience in both Stores and Purchasing/Procurement;
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office suite, with experience in computer-based inventory and procurement management systems is essential;
  • Previous use of Pronto business software will be highly regarded;
  • Experience in conducting cyclic stock takes, issuing, receipting, maintaining master data integrity;
  • Coherent with rotable spares, inventory obsolescence and stock valuation processes;
  • The ability to work autonomously and unsupervised;
  • WorkSafe High Risk Forklift license (LF) is essential;
  • MR (or higher) class driver’s license would be preferred;
  • Passion for driving process improvement and change management;
  • Dangerous Goods Storage and Handling qualification desirable;
  • Exposure to Chain of Responsibility legislation desirable;
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, including attention to detail; and
  • Hold a current C Class driver's license and Senior First Aid Certificate.

This role is offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton and surrounding areas. Competitive market salary will be offered to the successful applicant.
