Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Townsville and Brisbane or DIDO from Mount Isa. Also, you will have the option to work 50% of the time from home, having a great work-life balance!

Reporting to the Senior Asset Engineer, you will face exciting challenges that are aligned with our breakthroughs, supporting us to develop Asset Management solutions that will support us to guarantee everyone will go home safe and well, as well as deliver our business goals. You will achieve this through reliability improvements and defect elimination techniques with a main focus on registered plant (cranes, pressure vessels. Etc.). You will also develop and improve maintenance strategies using your analytical thinking to deliver the best balance between cost x risk x performance and much more!

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Visibly lead safe behaviour, coaching workers in safe behaviours and routines including Workplace Interactions, TAKE5s and control management activities
  • Create, improve, and govern statutory and critical maintenance strategies
  • Monitor and report on performance and health of statutory (registered) equipment
  • Support the Senior Asset Engineer with the execution and management of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP)
  • Identify process gaps and/or improvements that will sustain asset management practices
  • Prioritise problems and/or improvements based on data
  • Develop, implement, and govern asset management procedures to ensure balance between costs, risks and performance of physical assets
  • Provide direction to asset management, maintenance, operations, and engineering on the priorities based on data
  • Perform additional appointed role duties such as Risk Owner, Control Owner, or Contractor Owner
  • Responsible for providing data driven and sound inputs into the budget development process

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in mining or heavy industries
  • Experience in Asset Management, Statutory equipment, Operational readiness projects.
  • Proficient in the use of data to guide decision making
  • Proficient in the interpretation of standards, such as ISO55000 and other Australian Standards, to guide decision making
  • Highly skilled in the use of qualitative reliability techniques, such as root cause analysis (Kepner-Trigoe, Apollo, etc.), FMEA and others
  • Proficient in the use of SAP with an understanding of master data requirements
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving problems and/or improvements opportunities
  • Analytical thinking
  • Results driven
  • The ability to work unsupervised and find solutions
  • Able to work as part of a team.

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or Trade qualification with some tertiary study
