Fortescue is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the role of Study Manager (MENA & CA) for our Energy business.

Reporting to the Regional Study Manager within the Global Project Development team, the Study Manager is a technical and commercial specialist for the development of projects, responsible for developing appropriate solutions to meet project scoping and feasibility requirements. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and contributing to the delivery of project studies including scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility.
  • Advancing studies inline with governance and assurance procedures to the required timelines and budget
  • Managing consultants / vendors appropriately ensuring delivery of required services and products meet Fortescue and industry standards of delivery.
  • Employing a process driven approach to studies whilst leading with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to conclude study information and outputs into an overall project business case for investment committee consideration. 
  • Leading and managing the design, study and project development initiatives
  • Leading multiple personnel and consulting with teams to deliver required targets.
  • Create and maintain relations with all teams and external stakeholders.
  • Escalation of matters with stakeholders as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline or similar qualification, with significant experience in a leadership position managing similar sized projects. Relevant study and project management experience of major projects.
  • Experience in working in an owner’s team.
  • Experience delivering project studies – from prefeasibility, FEED to FID.
  • Experience in a lead role, contracting and procurement strategies through to vendor assessment processes for major project awards.
  • Experience in renewable energy technology would be highly regarded.
  • Strategically minded in study development and delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizing skills to coordinate project activities.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience managing teams. Excellent engagement skills across all business levels
