About the Role

We are seeking the talents of an experienced and skilled leader for the Asset Integrity team at Olympic Dam.  We need someone who can integrate their expertise with the operation to help deliver safe and sustainable copper from this uniquely complex BHP asset.

This role will lead and champion a team which identifies, inspects, prioritises, and remediates business critical equipment to ensure the long-term integrity of assets. This protects the wellbeing of all personnel and ensures our equipment delivers on production targets.

The Asset Integrity team supports a reliable and optimal strategy to ensure the efficient deployment of funds across the mine and surface operations. You will be integral in the development, support, and execution of a long-term strategy for our asset.

This role will be Adelaide-based with regular site travel (initially weekly)

In this role you will:

  • Support sustainable planning and remediation of defects under the operational portfolio to reduce risk of integrity failure of critical equipment
  • Accountable for supporting sustainable execution of defects
  • Building and reviewing the risk for all known defects and records within the risk management system
  • Continue to evolve and promote a strategic approach to Asset Management Planning
  • Drive Asset Integrity focused projects across the site
  • Align with BHP centres of excellence to achieve a consistent approach for Asset Integrity Management (AIM)
  • Central reporting of key AIM metrics throughout the OD business
  • Support continuous improvement in the AIM operational model to achieve optimal execution of inspection and remediation with a focus on optimum utilisation of schedule equipment downtime
  • Drive improvement in best practice technologies to support inspections and remediation
  • Development of robust Opex & Capital budgets, including monitoring the actual costs against budget
  • Continuous support and empowering team members to give the best to perform safety and proactively

  • Proven technical and personnel safety focus
  • Understands the asset integrity lifecycle and asset management
  • Strong understanding of technical role requirements supported by relevant tertiary engineering qualifications
  • Knowledge of operations and works well with operational teams
