About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent Asset Readiness to join the Brockman Operational Readiness team.

Reporting to the Operational Readiness Manager, this role will provide specialist operational readiness advice and support to the portfolio of major projects across Greater Brockman. This will include support throughout the feasibility study into execution, commissioning, and handover phase to facilitate and promote a successful project.

The role contributes at a tactical level to the design of operational readiness processes, practices and tools to improve performance and facilitate the application of governance processes for leading practice across all GBO projects, with an emphasis on all asset management and engineering services processes.

Reporting to the Operational Readiness Manager your key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating Value through Optimizing and sustaining value with a strong commercial interest to ensure leading practices are implemented
  • Working collaboratively and fostering relationships with other departments to achieve wider business objectives
  • Getting results through providing advice and support through all project stages are being developed and implemented in line with Rio Projects endorsed methodology
  • Able to identify opportunities for improvement across mining operations
  • In collaboration with Project team, establish a robust commissioning plan of Fixed Plant assets, for a effective transition to steady state operations

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, able to build strong functional relationships with partners in a complex, matrix organisation
  • Knowledge of all aspects of asset management and engineering services processes (mobile and fixed plant maintenance, management of shops, maintenance planning and scheduling, mechanical and civil engineering) is key to succeed in this role
  • Knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation) and project site activities and experience as member of a small to medium-sized project’s management team will be an asset.
  • Understanding of organizational change management
  • Exposure to risk management and business improvement methodologies.
  • Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills.
  • Capability to write conclusive reports and create documents presenting requirements and developed plans, strategies and approaches
  • Mature approach to issues and strong decision making skills
  • Proven ability in safety leadership in the mining or relevant industry.
  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field (mechanical or electrical) preferred

Where you will be working

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.

The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
