About the Role

In this position you will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership to a team of supervisors in executing the mine plan whilst achieving safe and optimal outcomes for your team. You will be actively involved in BOS routines to deliver effective outcomes and continuous improvement, field leadership activities and engaging with the site mastery specialist and training team to enable your team to reach their full potential. There is an expectation that you operate in a proactive manner, working closely with site stakeholders on a daily basis and ensure operational challenges are raised and mitigating actions are taken. In this role you will also manage compliance with operating standards, procedures, work instructions and define processes in order to achieve and optimise production outcomes while working closely with the site team.  These opportunities are well suited to someone who has people leadership capability and is looking to be part of a team which is shaping processes and contributing to meeting and exceeding targets, within a changing and diverse workforce. In this role you will:   

  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader by engaging, developing and coaching your team;

  • Contribute to the preparation of the inputs to form the production plan and budget; 

  • Endorse and lead the planning and execution as well as monitor the effectiveness of production planning and execution improvement initiatives fore production, drill & blast and de-watering teams; 

  • Build cross-functional relationships with the Operational sub-functions to support deliverables;

  • Have the opportunity to develop and structure teams;

  • Develop capacity to investigate reported events which fall below the Business risk threshold and as the Control Owner, ensure Critical Controls are in place and effectively managing risk.

About You

As a strong leader within our team, you will have extensive experience in similar roles across mining and planning. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must enabling you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels. You will also ideally have:  

  • Unrestricted WA Quarry Manager certificate minimum requirement

  • BHP Operating system experience (desirable)

  • Demonstrated ability managing multiple conflicting priorities and strong decision-making skills;

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, D&B and de-watering tasks (desirable)

  • Collaborative relationship building and negotiation skills;

  • Sound computer literacy with exposure to interpreting shift metrics to drive optimal production behaviours and make timely changes;

  • Ability to support and grow a culture of diversity and personal development within the team;

  • Demonstrated experience in risk and change management;

  • Motivation as a performance and achievement orientated professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
