We are looking for a Change & Communication Team Lead / Superintendent to provide leadership for our growing Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Organisational Change Management (OCM) and Communications team.

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced change professional leader to be part of our Information Systems and Technology service delivery and create change in a meaningful way. You will lead the Perth and Pilbara site team of Change & Communications and Business Readiness professionals in the IS&T Project Management Office to enable digital transformation across Rio Tinto. You will collaborate with OCM colleagues globally to share, learn and improve your team’s capability and delivery.

Reporting to the Manager – Governance & Support and working in a diverse forward-thinking team within the APAC West Project Management Office (PMO), you will: 

  • Lead the local APAC-West OCM team in exemplifying teamwork and collaboration as they provide exceptional Change Management experiences for our IS&T projects for Rio Tinto.
  • Lead the APAC-West Business Readiness Team to drive adoption and deployments for IS&T projects at our sites
  • Engage with key project stakeholders, including Business Partners, Project Managers, Program and Portfolio Managers to provide OCM advice and expertise.
  • Work with global OCM colleagues to implement and sustain leading Change Management practices, including development and deployment of new ways of working and enabling tools.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience of leading a large team in a matrix organisation, managing team performance, development/ succession planning, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Proven ability to foster a positive respectful culture within the team and influence culture in the broader business.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and measuring change management strategies for organisations and functions, as well as providing strategic change management advice to programs and projects.
  • Proven ability to build trust and strong cross-business relationships, sharing knowledge and common processes within the team.
  • Business improvement skills and experience including the ability to analyse and define problems and to identify appropriate solutions.
  • A demonstrated commitment to continually learning and improving your knowledge and leadership capabilities.

It will also be beneficial but not mandatory, if you have formal change management qualifications, such as Prosci.
