About Olympic Dam

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Processing Operation in the capacity of Superintendent Concentrator Production you will have an overriding commitment to health, safety and environment within Processing. You will lead the production teams and drive adherence to the weekly production schedule, 1SAP work management processes and field leadership standards. You will consistently manage and mitigate asset risk to meet or exceed operational goals. This is a vital role that enables the continuous production and success of the Surface Operation at Olympic Dam.

This position is based at Olympic Dam, on a 5/2, 4/3 roster FIFO from Adelaide or residential in Roxby Downs.

In this role you will:

  • Be driven to create a respectful, inclusive, and diverse work environment by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing, and coaching your team
  • Actively guide field leadership by coaching of Supervisors to lift the standard of engagement and improve the safety culture
  • Manage work teams with an agenda to create a diverse and inclusive culture
  • Integrate with maintenance and other key stakeholders, to ensure effective, proactively planned production
  • Prepare manage and review operating budgets for your area as well as monitor against monthly cost drivers

About You

You will have significant frontline leadership experience with large teams. Tertiary or trade qualifications will be advantageous but not a requirement, experience in other industries that utilise an operating system founded on lean principles would be highly regarded. 

You will demonstrate leadership capability, strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal with the diverse range of employees within our business.

To be successful in this role it is essential to have:

  • Excellent prioritisation skills and strong stakeholder engagement skills at all levels of the business. 
  • Proven ability as a leader with a passion for developing, motivating, and mentoring team members
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills in complex environments
  • Knowledge of 1SAP work management.
  • Exceptional risk management skills

 You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by developing their team, exceeding expectations and delivering excellent results.  The ability to perform in a complex environment is critical and you will thrive by providing solutions to challenging problems.
