About Olympic Dam

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Onsite Services and Contracts, this is an exceptional opportunity to develop in this Superintendent Contract Management role where you will be providing leadership to a high-performing team, ensuring that technical support, governance and training for contractor management is provided to Olympic Dam.

This role is based in Adelaide and offers exceptional flexibility, part-time and full-time options.  The role will be offered as a 12 month secondment or fixed-term basis.

In this role you will:

  • Represent Olympic Dam at the Integrated Contract Management forum
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise to the Surface and Mine on contract matters
  • Maintain a constructive and healthy relationship with our contracting partners
  • Manage the critical control activities for contractor management that support the Assault Material Risk
  • Lead the governance activities to meet Our Requirements for Contractor Management
  • Perform and coordinate asset level and global level reporting for Management to ensure they are continuously informed and updated
  • Identify, build and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching and development 
  • Provide support and guidance to the Asset for escalated contractor matters and disputes
  • Encourage and promote continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to support customer group by leveraging BOS practices

About You

  • Pragmatic commercial outlook and exemplary judgement to deliver best outcome
  • Strong understanding of the Integrated Contractor Management Framework and BHP’s Our Requirements for Contractor Management
  • Demonstrated experience with administration and management of contracts
  • Experience with SAP desirable
  • Collaborative mind-set and advanced interpersonal skills
  • Highly capable of building constructive long-term relationships
  • Ability to think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change
  • Autonomous, detail oriented, organised, and objective
  • Identify risks and appropriate control options
  • Exceptional communication and demonstrated experience building mutually sound and beneficial relationships across multiple groups of stakeholders
  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others
