About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent – Control Systems Development to play a key role in empowering and leading a team to deliver a strong pipeline of high value, high complexity controls systems projects. You will provide technical leadership and guidance to your team, ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards, and that all safety and quality protocols are followed.

This role is a great opportunity for a high calibre individual to join the Process Engineering and Major Hazards division to provide leadership and guidance to a technically capable team to deliver projects for our operations-based customers.

Reporting to the Principal – Control Systems Development and working with your team of Control Systems Engineers

  • Provide leadership guidance to the team in the form of strategic direction, development (coaching, mentoring, upskilling), fair and consistent decision making 
  • Assist with site interfacing to progress projects, removing any roadblocks 
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders outside of the division 
  • Championing the MoC process for control systems changes 
  • Working with the project leads and Project Administration Officer for cost and budget control 
  • Escalating to the Principal – Control Systems Development where required and keeping them up to date with project progress 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Controls or Mechatronics Engineering discipline, or related field
  • Solid experience in control systems field, with a clear focus on project delivery
  • A proven track record of leading high complexity projects, delivering then on time and within budget
  • Experience in leading teams, with a focus on inclusion and diversity
  • Solid stakeholder engagement and communication skills with ability to motivate and lead teams of technical professionals
  • A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement

Where you’ll be working 

You will be Perth based with opportunity to work flexibly from home combined with time in our Operations Centre. The team actively encourages and supports flexible work. This includes workdays, hours and location, in addition to flexible and part-time work schedules. Occasional site travel will be required.
