About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent Cranes & Transport to manage a large and diverse Cranes and Transport team across our East Pilbara operations.

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced leader to provide direction and guidance to the Cranes and Transport team, while leading by example to promote best practice at all times. Reporting to the Manager Cranes and Transport, you will be:

  • Managing a team of cranes and transport supervisors and Crane Operators across our East Pilbara Operations
  • Improving the health and safety of the Cranes & Transport team – including proactively managing the safety and health process and systems, as well as coaching a team of supervisors and Crane operators
  • Working closely with various site operational teams to provide effective and efficient crane and transport solutions
  • Ensuring cranes and transport activities are carried out safely, according to plan and cost effectively
  • Managing a budget and ensuring capital and operating funds are allocated correctly within cranes and transport and promoting a high level of cost awareness

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: 

  • C Class Manual Driver's Licence
  • Experience in a similar leadership role within a mining environment, with proven ability to achieve safety and operational outcomes
  • Experience coaching and mentoring Supervisors on key safety tools such as CRM, safety interactions, pre-start and pre-task hazard assessments
  • Experience with Change Management and stake holder engagement, including extensive experience in front line leadership positions
  • Proven delivery experience in leadership and projects, with a demonstrated safety focus

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • A Crane ticket CN (minimum)
  • Diploma /Certificate IV in Frontline Management or similar leadership Qualifications
  • Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, and preparing and working on budgets

Located 95km north-west of Newman, Yandicoogina offers a range of fly in fly out rosters. As one of Australia's largest-producing iron ore mines; operating a fleet of autonomous trucks and drills, it generates more than 55 million tonnes of Hammersley Iron Yandi (HIY) fines each year.
