About the Role
The Superintendent Development is responsible for safely executing the 13-week mine plan, that is, development physicals including vertical development (raisebore), safety performance along with cost compliance to budget. You will do this through providing the interface between our mining contract partners and employees (those doing the work) and our Mining Operations and Technical Teams (the planners). You will be expected to be the contract superintendent for contracts related to Development; engaging and managing these contractors to ensure their performance is reflective of our business expectations and aspirations. Along with providing operational leadership, you will be expected to be a leader amongst the short-term technical team; providing guidance and mentoring to engineers.
It is expected that you will drive continuous improvements in safety and production, including processes and systems, which is essential in a SLC mine and development and operational readiness phase of a block cave.
This is a leadership role within the Carrapateena Mining Team, the team with the largest workforce on site, and with it comes the responsibility and opportunity to have a significant impact on the performance, safety and culture of the operation.
This role is based at Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta) on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster.
About You
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in safety leadership.
- Long standing experience in underground mining; SLC or BC experience highly regarded.
- Experience in mine design, scheduling, and production activities.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, desirable, but not essential.
- Mine managers competency desirable, but not essential.
- Project management experience highly regarded.
- Contract(or) management experience.
- Commercial acumen and ability to make data driven and informed business decisions.
- Ability to interact successfully with multiple internal stakeholders.
- Proven experience in coaching and mentoring of team members.
