About the Role

Reporting through to the Manager Mining Production, this a role where you will provide exceptional leadership, guidance and mentorship to the Drill and Blast team that facilitate them to ultimately achieve success and deliver on an executable schedule

This position is based at Jimblebar Mine Site on a 4/3, 5/2, 4/3, 9/5 FIFO basis.

In this role you will:

  • Drive our Safety Culture through quality operational leadership and risk management.
  • Promote and coach operational discipline and high performance in work execution and enhance the technical knowledge of team members
  • Ensure all teams follow our safety systems and procedures and coach and mentor all teams through appropriate field leadership
  • Monitor the Drill and Blast performance and outcomes
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to support the customer group by leveraging BOS practices
  • Take responsibility for identifying and resolving systemic issues, and for assessing the potential impact on production, plant and equipment
  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team

About You

  • Demonstrated Leadership experience in a similar level role
  • Understanding of mining operations, with drill and blast exposure desirable
  • Foundational leadership experience and engagement of teams that support high quality and engaged delivery
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement strategies with financial and commercial acumen
  • Experience in contractor management
  • The ability to engage and find positive outcomes with internal and external stakeholders
  • Well-developed engagement skills with an interest in providing leadership, stewardship, support and solutions
  • High level communication and influencing skills

Location

You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on a fly-in fly-out 4/3, 5/2, 4/3, 9/5 roster.   Our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning to help you unwind, relax and sleep well.
