Superintendent Electrical Maintenance
Work Location: Port Hedland
Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 4D/3R – residential in Port Hedland
Provide transformational leadership to inspire the electrical maintenance teams to think in new ways to improve cost conscious productivity while ensuring first and foremost a focus on safety. You will collaborate with other operational leaders to support engineering and shutdowns ensuring plant reliability and emphasis on continuous improvement
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for compliance with statutory appointments of the Electrical Supervisors and Nominees for FMG's Electrical Installing Work Licence, as required by the Mine Safety Inspection Regulations 2022
- Lead safety improvement initiatives and carry out investigations into electrical accidents and incidents and report to the relevant authorities as required
- Develop a team culture of continuous improvement aligned with Fortescue's values
- Ensure all electrical statutory testing and maintenance is carried out and recorded as required by the Mine Safety Inspection Regulations 2022
- Responsibility for the weekly and day to day planning, scheduling and coordination of fixed plant electrical maintenance activities to ensure maximum efficiency and safety of people and equipment
- Accountability for running the electrical maintenance teams to ensure that the team is focused on electrical optimization activities and undertaking diligent analysis of failures with a methodical Root Cause Analysis approach
Qualification and Experience:
- Electrical engineering or A Grade Electrical Workers License
- Demonstrated experience in mining fixed plant maintenance management
- Demonstrated experience as a supervisor essential
- Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management
- Experience within a mining or heavy industrial environment
- Current unencumbered WA C Class drivers licence
