We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Superintendent Engineering MP&E (Maintenance, Planning and Engineering) to join our team based at Yandicoogina.
Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management, this vital leadership role will be responsible for a large team of Electrical and Controls, Reliability and Project Engineers across both Fixed Plant and Mobile Equipment maintenance, site services and dewatering.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
- Supporting and developing a team of multi-disciplined Engineers in the delivery of reliability engineering processes
- Provide expert technical advice to operations and maintenance teams
- Poses strong interpersonal skills to allow for productive interfaces with the site maintenance teams
- Lead and support investigations into asset failures and performance, including root cause analysis (RCA)
- Utilise performance data to identify high value defect elimination opportunities and implement improvements in reliability, productivity, and cost
- Recommend and implement tactics designed to support high levels of asset safety, reliability, and integrity
- Monitor and analyse the performance of our assets and analyse primary/ secondary maintenance tasks to improve asset reliability and cost
- Demonstrate the Rio Tinto values of Care, Courage, and Curiosity
- Support and develop a team of asset health professionals to monitor and improve the health of the assets
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- An analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills, sound communication and computer skills
- Strong leadership qualities and a proven track record of success leading multi-disciplined teams
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including good oral and written skills
- Strong commitment to safety
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or a related discipline
- Practical experience and an understanding of asset management and reliability-based principles and processes such as RCA, FMECA and tactics development.
- A working knowledge of statutory, Australian and Rio Tinto engineering standards will be advantageous
- Full ‘C’ class driver’s license

Located 95km north-west of Newman, Yandicoogina offers a range of fly in fly out rosters. As one of Australia's largest-producing iron ore mines; operating a fleet of autonomous trucks and drills, it generates more than 55 million tonnes of Hammersley Iron Yandi (HIY) fines each year.
