The Role
Leading the Environmental Management requirements for the Stockman project, from development through to a successful built and transitioning to Operations, including the application of the required functional Governance to ensure compliance with internal and external Environmental Compliance requirements. The role includes the provision of subject matter expertise to ensure the nominated works are planned and executed Safely, to target Schedule and Cost, meeting Quality expectations and within Regulatory commitments.

The role includes the fields of water supply, Acid and Metalliferous Drainage, soil / water contamination, Tailings disposal and storage, Environmental risk management, Permitting approvals and Environmental Operational support.
  
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Participate in key Projects Assurance Reviews (Design Reviews, Hazard Studies, Risk Assessments) as well as Project Close-out sessions to reflect on Performance, Lessons Learned and improvements
  • Management of specialist Environmental and Technical consultants to deliver the associated Project Environmental and Land Acquisition leasing/approvals requirements gs, Geochem, Ground/Surface water and AMD related requirements including waste and soil characterisation, waste rock management, cover and/or heap leach design (ID / manage risks) and mine rehabilitation and closure aspects
  • Input into (including preparation) of key project Environmental Approvals documents including support/guidance on associated Technical Studies required
  • Provide input into trials / solutions to improve Rehab outcomes (design and lead sampling program, devise practical options for testwork, further assessments etc
  • Facilitate / participate in required Risk Assessments (Project and Operational), with associated Risk Controls and Action Management (via one source of truth Risk Register)
  • Provide strategic direction for LOM Water and Tailings strategies with stakeholder engagement
  • Single point of contact/interfacing for any reportable incidents to Environmental Regulator(s)
  • Responsible for preparation, management and liaison of Project and Operational Management Plans with approved Permit Approval conditions including any associated Variations
  • Ensure Project Operational Readiness (OR) requirements specific to Environmental aspects, as actioned as per the OR framework
  • Ongoing engagement / liaison with Operational stakeholders regarding broader aspects of management decision including water efficiency, risks to Groundwater pollution, Surface water containment / pollution / runoff at closure, TSFs cover design for closure etc)
  • Responsible for management of the required Project and Operational Environmental approved Permitting, Licensing and Compliance requirements, including the establishment of a Compliance Register for tracking/reporting purposes

About You
You will bring a love of Project Administration and Doc Control discipline, a will to make a difference and an element of fun to join in our team, in addition you will:
  • >10 years demonstrated experience in a similar capacity across Heavy Resources industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or Environmental Management.
  • Technical experience in managing environmental risks in a Mining / heavy industrial context, specifically from a Project development through to Mine Operational stage (green & brownfields)
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Willingness to travel to remote Mining locations in VIC, QLD, NSW, WA
The Company
  
We’ve had a big couple of years! In FY2021 Aeris Resources acquired Cracow Gold Mine in QLD and enjoyed exploration success at our exciting Constellation deposit at Tritton Copper Operations in NSW in FY2022.

In FY2023 Aeris completed its acquisition of Round Oak Minerals adding two additional producing mines to our portfolio, Jaguar in WA and Mt Colin in Qld, and the Stockman project. In future we expect to grow again.

This growth positions Aeris as Australia’s next mid-tier base and precious metals producer. Aeris will produce more than 60ktpa copper equivalent, roughly doubling our operating footprint.
