ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Production Manager (Bayer), as Superintendent Execution - Production, the purpose of this role is to ensure that all Production activities within the refinery are executed safely by competent personnel in accordance with work schedules, relevant standards and work instructions, while continually upholding and promoting the South32 Leadership Accountability Model. This role will be offered on aPermanent basis.

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.  

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.  

 
key responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• Rigorously apply and continue to review South32’s Risk Management policies, principles, activities, tools and investigation methodologies to ensure our people are not exposed to illness or injury
• Supervise the execution of the schedule in order to achieve established and achieve performance targets on HSEC, Cost and Volume (according to the Schedule).
• Lead the team to operate and outperform the production processes and equipment safely and in accordance with the schedule, process specifications and the Operation’s technical standards.
• Lead, coach and mentor employees to deliver performance, increase engagement.
• Lead an improvement culture by encouraging teams to identify improvements and implement team level improvement ideas through to completion

ABOUT YOU 

• Expert that has guided, developed and influenced practice with 5+ years’ experience in production execution activities
• Demonstrated capability to successfully lead a team and influence others
• Exceptional safety leadership with an ability to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace
• Ability to develop, coach and mentor employees to improve engagement, diversity and capability

Qualifications for this position are:

• A recognised job relevant university degree or diploma is preferred.
• Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
