Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for  

Reporting to the Manager- Environment & Social Performance, the Superintendent – Farm Management will be the site lead for managing Cadia Valley Operations owned properties, including houses and agisted farmland.

You will manage the Contango portfolio of Cadia owned property in accordance with the Cadia Farms Strategy. In addition, develop and implement a thorough and targeted management strategy to address direct environmental and social performance risks.

Through effective liaison with operational management, technical, environmental, safety, and approvals teams you will deliver successful strategic plans regarding regulatory approvals and community consultation and also implement improvement strategies for Cadia properties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all activities are carried out consistent with Cadia’s Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Social Performance Management System.
  • Develop and implement programs to address environmental and social performance risks and ease stakeholder concerns regarding direct and indirect impacts.
  • Overarching management of Cadia Farmland Strategy to ensure ongoing KPI’s are met for the business and continued improvement of farmland and practices.
  • Developing work plans, procedures, presentations, and performance reports as required from the Cadia Social Performance Management Plan. 
  • Complete miscellaneous assigned environmental and community projects within time, cost and quality parameters.
  • Manage to all community and stakeholder communications to support community engagement activities in relation to farmland and environmental programs.
  • Develop and deliver on a budget for Contango properties.

The ideal candidate will have rural farming background with experience in asset management and community consultation regarding to environmental matters accompanied with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to be able to respectfully liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Candidates must possess the following: 

  • Significant demonstrated experience in farm management involving land, stock and agistees – Essential
  • Rural / Farming background – Essential
  • Drivers Licence (Open Manual) - Essential
  • Experience in developing strategies, plans and budgets – Essential
  • Tertiary qualifications in agricultural or environmental science or a related field. – Highly regarded
  • Use of SAP /Accounting software. – Highly regarded
