Superintendent Fixed Plant & Asset Management Readiness

About the role

We are looking for a Fixed Plant and Asset Management Readiness Superintendent to join the Operational Readiness team working on the Hope Downs 1 Sustaining Project which is transitioning to implementation phase. This role will be responsible for the execution, commissioning and handover phase of the fixed plant, non-processing infrastructure and asset readiness activities to promote successful project outcomes. You will be based onsite at Hope Downs 1, working 5/2 - 4/3 roster.

You will lead, mentor, coach and develop the Fixed Plant and Asset Management Readiness team, including providing regular performance feedback. Provide leadership in safely executing operational readiness activities at a site level, ensuring team performance is in line with short to medium term objectives.

Reporting to the Manager Operational Readiness, you will:

  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
  • Execution of plant and non-processing infrastructure operating philosophy, information management, operations and asset management strategy development and commissioning and acceptance testing
  • Ownership of the Operational Readiness Plan, schedule and budget with a focus on fixed plant, non-process infrastructure and asset management related aspects throughout the execution phase of the project
  • Working collaboratively and fostering relationships with other departments to achieve wider business objectives
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels as well as having the ability to build strong functional relationships with partners in a matrix organisation
  • Knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation) and project site activities and experience as member of a project’s management team will be advantageous
  • Understanding of organisational change management

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Demonstrated performance in safety, people and operational leadership experience
  • Tertiary qualification in a field which will compliment operational readiness related activities (Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or similar)
  • Knowledge of all aspects of asset management and engineering services processes (mobile and fixed plant maintenance, management of non-process infrastructure, maintenance planning and scheduling, mechanical and civil engineering) is key to succeed in this role
  • Proven ability to coach, lead change and effectiveness in decision making
  • Demonstrated capability in project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, cost estimation, variations as well as management of change (MOC)
  • Risk management, business improvement and effective reporting skills is essential
  • Experience in the development of a safety culture and ensuring relevant safety compliance as well as adherence to standards, processes and procedures
