About the Role
We are actively seeking the talents of an innovative and driven Superintendent Geomatics to join the WA Iron Ore Survey team.
This role reports to the Manager Survey. It will play a key leadership role in the development and implementation of WA Iron Ore’s geospatial strategy, which is pivotal to the company’s digital transformation.
As well as your important strategic responsibilities, you will lead a team of geospatial professionals who are responsible for supporting internal customers with all their geospatial needs, ranging from massive imagery and terrain data management to the implementation of web and field based geospatial applications. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct leadership for a team of geospatial professionals, enabling them to perform at their best.
- Working with a wide range of stakeholders across all of our WA Iron Ore operations, to identify and implement value-add geospatial solutions.
- Be forward focused and identify emerging technologies and solutions, as input to our ongoing planning cycles.
- Manage the Geomatics team budget and operational plan.
- Collaborate with international BHP technology and geospatial teams to enable the replication of best practice and to standardise our approach wherever practical.
This is preferably a full time position however part time 4 days/wk would be considered.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be an extremely collaborative and engaging leader with outstanding communication skills. You are team oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve results.
You have previous success in developing cohesive, high performing teams, are incredibly results focused with a demonstrated track record driving effective business outcomes.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- Experience in team leadership in a geospatial discipline
- Experience working with the ESRI ArcGIS enterprise environment
- Experience with strategy development and implementation
- Innovative, results oriented thinker with the ability to slice through complex problems, influence and inspire others to achieve results
Location
You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
