About the Role
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Geotechnical Superintendent to join our team. You will manage the geotechnical aspects of two distinct mining areas utilizing both block cave and sub-level cave methods.
5-3-4-2 roster flying in and out of Perth (4-3 roster available with agreement)
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lead and coordinate the Geotechnical team in daily analysis of monitoring data, geotechnical data collection, installing and maintaining monitoring instrumentation, and reporting of key geotechnical information, hazards and control performance.
- Ensuring the mining operations, in all active mine areas are designed and maintained to control risks associated with geotechnical hazards.
- Providing timely and appropriate advice on geotechnical issues to mine operations personnel.
- Leading geotechnical safety in the development and review of safe operating procedures.
- Ensuring the Ground Control Management Plan, Principal Hazard Management Plan, Support Standards and other legal and best practice documentation are kept up to date.
- Conducting audits to verify that all geotechnical procedures are carried out as defined in the Ground Control Management Plan.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology
- Experience in underground operations
- Excellent understanding of risk-based ground support methods, monitoring instrumentation installation and data interpretation
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to significantly contribute to an experienced team
- Current C class manual drivers license
