About the Role

As part of the BMA Asset Engineering team, the Superintendent Dams & Asset Integrity Governance & Technical Stewardship (G&TS) you will lead a team of both Dam and Asset Integrity specialists across BMA’s operations. The key focus of this role is to assure the integrity of business critical equipment and Water and Tailings Storage Facilities. Key accountabilities are as follows:  

  • Budget management across both the Dams and Asset Integrity team’s.
  • Achieving internal and external Dam compliance,
  • Co-ordinates management activities for the safe design, construction, operation, surveillance, maintenance, and closure of water and tailings storage facilities.
  • Governance of risk mitigation Dam projects.
  • Alignment with BHP centres of excellence to achieve a consistent approach to Dam and Asset Integrity management.
  • Central reporting of key metrics through the business on both Dam and Asset Integrity management.
  • Manage the governance of the Asset Integrity for BMA’s Business critical Equipment.
  • Deliver the implementation plan for Asset Integrity Management system and govern the end to end process.
  • Assure that adequate sustainable controls are implemented and effective.
  • Provide central governance over BMA’s current financial year’s budget and scope and support the central consolidation of 2Y-5Y Asset Integrity Budget.

About You

  • A proven commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, or another engineering qualification combined with demonstrated experience in technical or team leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and disciplines.
  • Ability to implement change through influence.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into management strategies.

About the location: The role is based in the BHP Brisbane office, with travel to the Bowen Basin sites as required.
