About the Role

We are seeking an HSE Superintendent within the HSE Business Partnering Team reporting to the HSE Manager Non Mines.  This is a unique new opportunity to optimise HSE support for the WAIO Perth & Functions teams providing leadership, coaching, and advice to the operational areas and functional partners.  You will lead and manage a diverse and inclusive team responsible for executing the Asset/Minerals Australia strategy (through the lens of HSE) at an operations level.  This role maintains strong working relationships across site Operations and Function management teams.  In this role you will: 

  • Provide leadership for a team of high performing and capable Health, Safety, Environment professionals providing support to the operational and functional customers and be an active contributor to the HSE Leadership team across WAIO.
  • Build capability within the operational leaders to enable them to create the desired health, safety and environment outcomes, and to enact HSE risk management and compliance requiements.
  • Identify, prioritise and implement required HSE strategies and initiates to support successful operational outcomes.
  • Support the implementation of relevant HSE Business Plan initiatives.
  • Govern and maintain the design and implementation of HSE standards, procedures and systems
  • Ensure provision of technical expertise and deliverables of environment, health, hygiene and safety requirements
  • Work collaboratively with other HSE teams to improve HSE delivery and risk management across the Asset Define and track adherence to, and efficiencies for budget management

Location

This role will be based in Perth with flexible site travel opportunities available to support our customer’s needs.

  • Formal qualifications and/or equivalent experience in health, safety, environment or related discipline
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to sites across the WAIO portfolio
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels in HSE, with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Forward thinking and proactive work style;
  • A proven ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans;
  • An advanced understanding of HSE standards and systems, as well relevant legislation
